Well, I've definitely confirmed that you can get items just by being idle in a game. If you load up TF2, and look for servers with the map achievement_idle (or one of its variants), you can generally sit there for hours on end and pick up a few items. I would say I'm averaging about 1 item every 1.5 hours or so doing it this way. I have probably half the stuff now, and a few duplicates. Assuming they enable trading of items, I will be sharing.

That is funny stuff , almost makes me want to play TF2 again , but would I ever be a noob with all the updates they have done.
Its not so bad now
At least the new weapons and such aren't achievement based anymore. You find them in the game just by playing.
